Wild Aurora Bear Camp, an hour and half southwest of Yellowknife on the Mackenzie highway
Adventures in the Wild are scheduled from the beginning of May, after the snow melts in the Boreal Forests of the Northwest Territories, to mid-June when the midnight sun lights the night.
- The only natural wood bison herd in the world roams freely here north of the Mackenzie River and west of Great Slave LakeBlack Bear and Timber Wolves hunt the woodland caribou,
- Black Bear and Timber Wolves hunt the woodland caribou, moose, and bison.
- Northern pike fishing is great at the North Arm of Great Slave Lake or a number of no-name creeks.
- Day trips to Behchoko and Ft Providence and the Mackenzie River crossing can be part of the adventure
Aurora viewing in September thru October can be part of the Wild Aurora Bear Camp adventure. Wood bison and other wildlife viewing are planned daily as the aurora covers the night sky.
